OK this is the weekend of the Brazilphile in Toronto!
I dont know how exactly this is going to play out with three big Brazil related events going on and a long weekend where many Torontonians choose to leave the city. But I know that al of all these events will be banging and full of people choosing to have a happy time!!
The oldest of the events is Brazilfest. Directors Arilda and Antonio have managed to pull off this festival year after year with good timesdespite several set-backs. Last year their location on the Toronto Island was flooded, this year the Municial Workers strike put a halt to their en d of July festival plans. This may just have been for the better as that weekend ended up being rainy and cold. In contrast this weekend up ahead and Sunday especially look to be warm and sunny . Its all taking place at Earls Court Park ( St. Clair Ave W. & Caledonia Rd ). A huge park sure to be teeming with fun and sun seeking Brazilians. There will be music, dance, capoeira and good food!
This year’s line-up includes a host of local Brazilian Performing Groups, Bands, Artists, MCs:
Carlinhos Pernambuco, Marinaldo ” Bola” Da Silva, Bracatum ( Axe Mmusic )
Salviano Pessoa, Donna Lolla, Brazil Dance World, DJ Vince, Sambacana
